Cebu is home to many of the Philippines’ language schools. This guide covers housing types (dormitory, hotel, commuting), four-week costs, local fees and getting from the airport, based on Cebu schools’ official pages. Checked on 29 October 2026.
In short
Cebu schools differ in how you live: dormitory, hotel or commuting. Four-week prices change a lot with room size, and an airport pickup costs 1,000 to 1,500 pesos one way. Some schools charge extra depending on the day and time you arrive, so check the school’s rules before booking your flight.
What studying in Cebu is like
Cebu City is the main city on Cebu island in the central Philippines, and many language schools are based there. With so many schools, there is a wide range of housing, lesson numbers and prices.
Schools describe their pickup as running from Mactan-Cebu airport to the school (CEGA, for example). Compare schools in the list of schools in Cebu.
Housing: dormitory, hotel or commuting
Each Cebu school offers different ways to live. Check which ones you can choose before you apply.
- Dormitory: Target prices tuition and housing together, with rooms from single to six-person
- Hotel: CEGA lists a hotel plan as well as two-person and single rooms
- Commuting: Merise English Academy lists tuition-only prices without housing
Four-week cost examples
In Target’s fee table (tuition and housing), four weeks of the TARGET 4 course cost USD 1,340 in a six-person room and USD 1,840 in a single room.
Even at the same school, room size and what is included change the price a lot. For how to line up quotes, see reading a quote for English school in Cebu.
Fees you pay locally
At Cebu schools you also pay the SSP, visa extensions, the ACR I-Card, utilities and more at the school after you arrive. SSP amounts differ by school: Target charges 12,300 pesos for the SSP application and E-CARD, and CEGA 11,800 pesos for the SSP.
See the totals by number of weeks in our article on local fees by length of stay.
Getting from the airport and arrival-day rules
You can ask your school to pick you up at the airport. One-way prices on the schools’ official pages are below.
Target adds 1,000 pesos to the pickup fee for flights arriving between 8:00 on Saturday and 7:55 on Sunday, and between 0:05 and 6:00 on Monday. If you want to arrive on the Saturday before you start, you need an extra night at 1,500 pesos. Check your arrival day and time against the school’s rules before you book a flight.
- English Fella: 1,000 pesos (arrival only)
- Target: 1,200 pesos (same price for up to two people)
- CEGA: 1,500 pesos (optional)
- Curious World: 1,500 pesos (airport to school, one way)
