Editorial Policy
This is a translation for reference. In the event of any discrepancy, the Japanese version shall prevail.
Where the information on BLOOM ABROAD (the "Service") comes from, and the rules we follow when we publish it.
1. Operator
The Service is operated by BLOOM CONSULTING (representative: Yuki Sugimoto). Our address, phone number and other details are on the Legal Notice page.
2. Where the information comes from
- Country pages (costs, routes, visas and entry) are written from primary materials published by public bodies such as national governments and immigration authorities. Each page links to its sources and shows the date we checked them. Price levels by country use values from the World Bank's World Development Indicators.
- Listings for schools, housing, insurance, SIMs and more come from one of three places: information provided by the listed school or business (our partners), information checked by our team, or posts by users. Each listing shows which one applies, and when it was last updated, under "Information source" and "Last updated".
- Prices and conditions can change. Before you apply, please also check the sources on each page and the official information from the school or business.
3. Currency conversion
- Amounts shown in a currency other than the original are converted estimates. The actual charge is based on the price in the original currency.
- Exchange rates come from Frankfurter (frankfurter.dev), which publishes reference rates from the European Central Bank and other institutions. We fetch them once a day (7:00 a.m. Japan time).
- We do not use rates more than 7 days old. In that case, amounts are shown in the original currency.
- Lists that show converted amounts also show the date and source of the rate used.
4. Reviews and stories
- Reviews and stories are written by users about their own experience.
- Posts are not published right away. Our team checks the content before it goes live.
- Stories are published in the language the author wrote them in (we do not translate them). Stories written by someone connected to the listed business, or written in return for a reward, carry a label saying so.
5. Referral fees and advertising
This site uses affiliate links to support its operation. If you sign up through one of these links, we may receive a referral fee at no additional cost to you. Referral fees never affect how listings are ordered or rated. (This is the same notice as in the footer of every page.)

6. Reporting an error
If you spot an error in a listing, please tell us through the contact form or by email (info@bloom-abroad.com). We will check it and correct the listing where needed.
