The F-⁠1 visa is for students enrolling in academic programs at a university, college, high school or other academic institution, including an English language program. After you receive your Form I-⁠20, you pay the I-⁠901 SEVIS f⁠e⁠e⁠.

You enrol in an academic program at a university or college on an F-⁠1 visa. Besides the Form I-⁠20 from your school and payment of the I-⁠901 SEVIS fee, you need evidence of financial support such as family bank statements, sponsor documents, financial aid letters or scholarship lette⁠r⁠s⁠.
