What you can do
From more than 3,200 plans in 202 countries and regions, you can choose by destination, number of days and data amount. You can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, JCB) without creating an account, and the QR code arrives by email and in your account. It can be used if you activate it within 180 days of purchase, so you can buy it as soon as your trip is decided.
From applying to after you arrive
Choose your destination, number of days and data amount, and pay by card.
Before departure, install the eSIM on your phone using the QR code that arrives or the setup details in your account.
Turn on data in the destination to start using it. The validity period is counted from the first time it connects there.
If you run low, on supported plans you can add data from your account, and the expiry date is extended by the amount you add.
What sets it apart
It is an eSIM that adds data only. It assumes you keep your Japanese phone number and use only data on the eSIM abroad. A phone number, SMS and voice calls are not included, and you can't receive SMS verification codes. App calls on LINE and WhatsApp can be used.
It is not limited to one country. For a two-country study plan, such as studying in the Philippines and then moving to Canada, you can buy a plan for each country. Plans for Japan use the docomo or KDDI network, so you can also use them when you return home temporarily.
There are features for people who use it for longer. Daily plans get a long-stay discount of 2 to 10% for 2 days or more (fixed-data plans are excluded), and on supported plans you can set data to be added automatically when little is left. Even on "unlimited" plans, speed may be limited once usage goes over a certain amount.
When you need help, chat support answers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in 7 languages. For matters that need a person to check, such as refunds, send the form and you usually get an email reply within 24 hours.
It is run by BLOOM CONSULTING, the same company as BLOOM ABROAD, and eSIM sales began in April 2026. What you can compare are the plans Bloomy eSIM offers; this is not a site that lines up other companies' eSIMs side by side.
It suits people who want to get data ready before departure for travel or a short stay abroad. If you will live in Canada for a long time and use a Canadian phone number for banking or work procedures, it's worth comparing it with plans from Canadian mobile carriers.
