From your first idea to your life abroad. BLOOM ABROAD is a free study abroad website where you can plan, compare, check and prepare in one place, all the way to living in your new city.
In short
Compare schools, housing, SIM cards, insurance and more across 15 countries on the same terms, with official sources and the date we checked them. Check a quote you received, follow official government announcements and plan your stay in My Page, all without signing up. Browsing, comparing, the city match quiz, Quote Check, consultations and listings are all free.
Explore: answer a few questions and find cities that suit you
Not sure where to go yet? Take the city match quiz and get 3 cities that suit you. Answer questions about the language you want to learn, your goals, how long you will stay, your budget, climate and safety, and you get your top 3 from 41 cities in 14 countries, with the languages spoken, the visas available, and what matched and what did not. From your top city you can go straight to schools, housing, SIM cards and bank accounts.
Once you have a country in mind, its country page shows costs and the ways to go. For each route you see the official names of the visas or permits you need, with the date we checked them on government websites. The cost page shows official living cost guides per month in your currency, with a breakdown, rents and how prices have moved over the last 5 years. Still deciding? Try the city match quiz.

Check: review your agency quote for free
Upload the quote you received from a study abroad agency and see what you are paying for, line by line: whether the lines add up to the total, tuition, enrolment, accommodation and fees, discounts and support, payment and cancellation terms, and anything worth checking. Questions for your agency can be copied as ready-to-send text.
If the school is listed on our site and its official prices are confirmed, your quote is shown side by side with the same course built from official prices, with the difference for each line and in total. Costs that are usually on a quote but missing are flagged as “gaps to check”, and costs you pay yourself abroad are shown separately as estimates. No sign-up needed. Got a quote? Try Study Abroad Quote Check.
- Black out your name, contact details or anything else before uploading
- Log in to keep the result in My Page, and delete it whenever you like

Check: official announcements, fast and clear
When visa rules or programmes change, we bring you announcements from governments and official bodies, explained clearly. Each story shows who announced it, when, and the date we checked the official page, along with who it affects and how many days until it applies. An “Important” label marks changes that could cost you if you are applying, about to travel or already studying and do nothing.
You can also get alerts. Use a button such as “Get updates on Canada” on a country page to choose countries, regions and topics (visas and fees, work after graduation and immigration, school closures and accreditation, safety and living rules), and receive them in My Page or by email (login needed). Apply: talk to us if unsure, then apply through a partner
If comparing on your own leaves you unsure, you can talk to a local expert for free. The consultation form works without logging in, and you can start a consultation straight from your Quote Check result.
When you have chosen a school, you can apply through a BLOOM ABROAD partner. Not sure yet? Ask us first through a free study abroad consultation.
- It can cost less than applying directly
- It is not always cheaper

How BLOOM ABROAD began
BLOOM ABROAD began as a project by Co-op students. Our founder started and led it, and many developers, UI/UX designers, marketers and salespeople have helped shape it. We will keep growing it together with students like you. Read the full story in Our Story.
What we stand for
We want BLOOM ABROAD to show you everything you need to decide, openly. See our editorial policy for details.
- Official sources and check dates: numbers and rules on country, visa, cost and news pages link to government, public or school pages, with the date we checked them
- No arrangement fee when you apply through a BLOOM ABROAD partner
- We never push you to sign up. Feel free to just browse and compare
- Ads carry a “PR” label. Referral fees and ads do not change the order or ratings of free listings (except ads shown in fixed positions)
- Applying through our links costs you nothing extra
- Reviews and experiences are checked before they go live, and we never remove one just because it is negative
- Listing a school or business is free and kept separate from advertising
- Original quotes are deleted after a time limit: 24 hours without logging in, or 180 days if you keep them in My Page. You can delete them yourself at any time
Your feedback makes it better
Tell us anything you notice. At the bottom of many pages you will find “Was this page helpful?” with 3 faces to choose from (you can change your choice). You can also send a short note, such as a feature you want, something hard to use or information that is wrong, without logging in. Changes we make from your feedback are shared on the feedback page.
