Ce qui a changé
Correction (October 24, 2026): We previously listed this as applying to the "Student visa (Student / Child Student)," but the correct scope is the "Student visa (Student)." In HC 584, the amounts change only in Appendix Student (ST 12.3 and ST 12.4).
The Child Student change concerns Erasmus+ participants. We have also corrected the publisher from "GOV.UK (Graduate visa)" to the UK Home Office.
The amount of living costs you need to show when you apply for a UK Student visa will go up from November 30, 2026. If you study in London, it rises from £1,529 a month to £1,570 a month.
If you study outside London, it rises from £1,171 a month to £1,203 a month. Both amounts are for up to 9 months.
The maximum amount of pre-paid fees for accommodation arranged by your school that you can deduct from your living costs also rises from £1,529 to £1,570.

Rules published on 3 September 2026 (HC 584). Takes effect on 30 November 2026 (the rules state: "The following paragraphs shall take effect on 30 November 2026.").
Applications made before 30 November will be decided under the rules in force on 29 November 2026.
Exceptions
These rules were announced on September 3, 2026. We are telling you about them because the start date is near. Applications made by November 29 will be decided under the previous rules.
