St. Michaels University School (SMUS), founded in 1906 in Victoria, is among BC's largest independent schools, with about 1,000 students from junior kindergarten to Grade 12. It runs one of Canada's largest AP programs at 26–27 courses, keeps average classes around 16–17, and integrates international students—roughly 25% from over 28 countries—with locals. Its latest 162 graduates earned 728 university offers and over $2.5 million in scholarships. Boarders in grades 8–12 live across six houses, with ELL support and nationally competitive sports like rowing, suiting students seeking a serious academic boarding school.
