UMC (Upper Madison College) operates campuses in Toronto, minutes from Eglinton Station, and Montreal, capping every class at 12 students (typically 8–10). Core English spans nine levels, managed through regular counselling sessions and monthly report cards. It also runs ACE-Japanese, a Japanese-English interpreting and translation program, and serves as an official CILISAT/ILISAT test centre. Japanese-speaking counsellors are normally on staff, reassuring for beginners. EAP graduates can enter partner Ontario colleges without entrance exams, and the school encourages volunteering with certificates and reference letters—ideal for structured, closely guided study.
