Information Provider Terms
This is a translation for reference. In the event of any discrepancy, the Japanese version shall prevail.
These Terms (the "Terms") set out the conditions for receiving information from individuals and businesses that provide local information (fees, systems, experiences, photographs, etc.) (the "Information Providers") in order to improve the accuracy and freshness of the articles and listings of BLOOM ABROAD, operated by BLOOM CONSULTING ("we" or "us"). They are separate from advertising and paid listings.
1. Information Provided
- What is provided is limited to facts, experiences, figures, photographs, and the like that the Information Provider has the authority to provide.
- Providing information is voluntary. We make no promise of listing, adoption, or ranking on the ground that information was received.
- We do not pay any consideration (honoraria, referral fees, etc.). These Terms do not set out conditions such as consideration, performance-based rewards, or exclusivity. Where such conditions become necessary, they will be agreed in advance in a separate document.
2. How We Use Information
- We use the information received in articles and listings after verifying it (checking against official sources and multiple information sources). We do not use content that we cannot verify.
- We may summarize, translate, and format information. We will confirm with the Information Provider any correction that changes the meaning.
- We hold the authority to decide the content, conclusions, and order of articles. Information Providers are not in a position to approve or supervise the content of articles.
3. Display of "Information Cooperation"
- With the Information Provider's consent, we may display a name (business name or personal name, and optionally affiliation) in an article as "Information Cooperation." The display is limited to words that merely state the fact of provision ("information cooperation" or "interview cooperation").
- We do not use words such as "official," "supervised," or "recommended."
- The display can be removed at any time at the Information Provider's request. We will carry out the removal within a reasonable period.
4. Rights
- Information Providers represent that the information and photographs they provide do not infringe the rights of third parties.
- Information Providers grant us a free license, with no limit on period, to use the information and photographs they provide in the Service (including articles, listings, translations, summaries, and thumbnails). However, when an Information Provider requests withdrawal, we will remove them from the Service within a reasonable period (copies already distributed are not covered).
- We do not use an Information Provider's photographs outside the Service (such as in advertising).
5. Personal Information
The names and contact details of Information Providers are used for the purposes of contact, verification, and display, and are not used beyond the scope of these Terms. The handling of personal information of Information Providers outside Japan follows "Personal Information of Information Providers, Listing Parties, and Advertisers Outside Japan" in the Privacy Policy.
6. Correction and Withdrawal
Information Providers may request correction or withdrawal of the information they provided at any time. We will also make corrections when we learn of an error. The per-article correction channel ("Fix or add information in this article") is also available.
7. Disclaimer
We do not guarantee the accuracy of the information provided. We are not liable for damages arising from the use of articles, except where we act with willful misconduct or gross negligence.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
- If a dispute arises in connection with the Service, the district court having jurisdiction over our location shall be the exclusive agreed court of first instance. However, where the Consumer Contract Act or other mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise, those provisions apply.
9. Language
The Japanese version of these Terms is the authoritative text. Versions in other languages are reference translations, and in the event of any inconsistency, the Japanese version prevails.
