The University of Victoria (UVic), founded in 1963, is BC's most historic public university, with about 21,800 students; its law and business faculties are competitive even among local applicants. The attached English Language Centre has operated for over 50 years and teaches 2,500 students annually across general English, specialized English, and university pathway programs. Continuing Studies offers popular PGWP-eligible diplomas in digital marketing and data analytics; the Diploma in Digital Marketing (DIGM, 2 years, 12 courses) costs $15,559 including fees and materials (checked in the official program sheet on October 20, 2026). Around 1,600 international students from some 100 countries study on the spacious campus, about 20 minutes by bus from downtown.
