Westpac Choice
One of the Big 4. The monthly fee is permanently waived if you are under 41, and new arrivals get 12 months free, so most working holiday makers and students pay nothing. Ages 18-40 can earn up to 5.75% p.a. on the linked Westpac Life savings account via the Spend&Save offer — the strongest big-bank rate. You can apply online from 14 days before arrival.
